Landeck Castle in Tyrol

The Schloss Landeck castle is strategically located on a hill just above the town Landeck with a view of the entire area. The original castle was built in the 13th century and changed hands many times until it was bought by the town of Landeck in 1942. Today the castle is the district museum of Landeck.

The view from the top floor over Landeck is particularly worth seeing, but you have to climb many steps to get there. The museum shows the lifestyle of the past, as is common in most well-preserved palaces and castles.

The castle also has a castle gallery, which presents contemporary works by artists from the region. In addition to the permanent historical exhibition, Landeck Castle regularly offers special exhibitions on the history of the region and its cultural development. The castle courtyard is often used for cultural events and concerts and is a lively meeting place for those interested in art and history. During Advent, an atmospheric Christmas market often attracts many visitors who want to enjoy the special ambience of the castle in a wintery atmosphere. A visit is worthwhile all year round.
