Looking at the lake from the car park, there is a footpath on the left that runs parallel to the lake through the forest. However, this path leads steeply up a hill and away from the lake in parts. On the right, a paved road runs along the shore to the Goingstätthof inn at the other end of the lake. The right side is the sunnier side of the lake. The road also serves as an access road to the houses and guest houses in the area. When walking, numerous cars and motorbikes can be a nuisance.

The path on the asphalt road is flat and leads comfortably to the Goingstätthof inn. The path runs partly directly along the shore, partly away from the water, past farms and partly through the forest.

An autumn hike around Lake Hintersteiner See is particularly impressive. The forests around the lake are colored in warm shades of yellow and orange, as well as red and violet. The landscape contrasts with the turquoise-green water. Time to sit on a bench or on the bank and admire life.

In winter, the Hintersteiner See is lonely and peaceful. Even on sunny winter days, you will only see a few hikers. The snowy landscape and the clear air invite you to take quiet walks. The lake transforms into an enchanting winter setting that delights nature lovers and those seeking relaxation alike.
