The Zillertalbahn railway runs from the village Jenbach to Mayrhofen in the Zillertal valley. It is both an important means of transport for the locals and a beautiful drive through one of the most famous valleys in the world, the Zillertal.
You can get on and off at the various towns along the route. Those who come by car can, for example, get on the railway in Strass im Zillertal and stay on it until Zell am Ziller, one of the loveliest towns in the Zillertal. Here you can take a leisurely stroll and enjoy an ice cream or coffee.
The Zillertalbahn was built between 1900 and 1902. Today, the route is mainly used for local and tourist traffic.
