Tratzberg Castle is imposingly situated on a rock in the lower Inn Valley, at the foot of the Karwendel Mountains. It immediately catches the eye of every driver on the highway between Kufstein and Innsbruck.
There was a castle on this site as early as the 13th century, but today's Tratzberg Castle was built in the early 16th century in the style of a Renaissance castle.
Visitors are taken to the castle on a small car train, or they can walk to the castle. A visit to the interior is only possible with a guide and you should register in advance. There is also a guided tour with virtual reality glasses.
At the foot of the castle, right by the parking lot, there is a children's playground and a restaurant with outdoor and indoor tables.
