Skating on a huge natural lake is an unforgettable experience. The lake Piburger See lies lonely and serene in the middle of an impressive mountain landscape in the Ötztal. In winter, the popular bathing lake becomes a fairytale ice skating rink.
Attention: Due to fluctuating temperatures, the lake must be cleared by the authorities for ice skating. Access to the ice rink is free and is at your own risk. Please note any barriers and warning signs that may be posted. Opening times are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The lake is easily reached by car and is located near Oetz, right at the beginning of the Ötztal. A large paid car park offers numerous parking options. From the car park you walk 10 minutes down a steep road downhill to the lakeshore. Ice skates can usually be rented on site, at the apartment Piburger See (please find out more beforehand at +436645406771).
