Clouds will break up by midweek, before significantly cooler, wetter, and windier conditions arrive from Thursday onward. At higher elevations, the rain may turn to snow. The drier hours until Wednesday are particularly suitable for excursions; if it rains, museums, exhibitions, or indoor swimming pools offer good alternatives. Highs will initially range from 16 to 21 degrees Celsius, later generally between 8 and 14 degrees.

Higher passes and trails are increasingly becoming wet, slippery, or icy, and in some places, the first snow is possible. The Sill Gorge is ideal for a nature walk or hike near Innsbruck in autumn. On October 7th, mostly sunny weather is expected, with only a five percent chance of rain and a mild temperature of 19.9 degrees Celsius.
