Bärenkopf Tyrol

One of the most beautiful views in Tyrol is the view from the Bärenkopf to Lake Achensee. The path to the Bärenkopf is a popular hiking trail.

View from Bear's Head

The starting point is the mountain station of the Karwendelbahn in Pertisau at 1,510 m above sea level. From there you hike to the 1,991 m high Bärenkopf in around 1 ½ to 2 hours. The hike is not difficult, but there are some steep sections that can be challenging for inexperienced hikers and children.

The hike itself is relatively safe, but caution is advised on the Bärenkopf itself as it goes steeply into the abyss in some places. Pay particular attention to children and dogs here.
