One of the most beautiful views in Tyrol is the view from the Bärenkopf to Lake Achensee. The path to the Bärenkopf is a popular hiking trail.
A possible starting point is the mountain station of the Karwendelbahn in Pertisau at 1,510 m above sea level. From there, you hike to the 1,991 m high Bärenkopf in about 1 ½ to 2 hours. The hike is not difficult, but there are some steep sections that can be a challenge for inexperienced hikers and children. Sure-footedness and sturdy shoes are required.
The hike itself is relatively safe, but caution is advised on the Bärenkopf itself as it goes steeply into the abyss in some places. Pay particular attention to children and dogs here.
The Bärenkopf offers a breathtaking view of the turquoise-blue Achensee and the surrounding mountains of the Karwendel range. The view of the Achensee, which stretches through the valley like a glittering ribbon, is particularly impressive. The hike is ideal for nature lovers who are looking for both physical activity and an impressive panorama. In clear weather you can even see as far as the Zillertal Alps. A longer rest on the summit is recommended so that you can enjoy the spectacular landscape in peace.
