Axams is a sunny place about 25 minutes by car from Innsbruck. The place is particularly popular with winter sports enthusiasts due to its proximity to the Axamer Lizum ski area.
However, Axams is also recommended for a relaxing holiday in summer. The location high above the Inn Valley, on a sunny plateau, offers peace, fresh air and many hiking opportunities. Due to the strong winter tourism, there are numerous good inns that are also open in summer.
In the village itself there are numerous historic houses that give visitors an insight into Tyrol's past. Axams has been documented since the 10th century.
