The parish church of St. Nicholas stands imposingly on a hill in the village Obernberg am Brenner in Tyrol. Due to its impressive location, it is one of the most photographed churches in Tyrol. The church originally dates from the 14th century.
In the 18th century there was a new construction, which is responsible for the current late Baroque church with a high tower. Documents indicate that the original church in the 14th century was a small chapel.
The church is easy to visit, there is a car park just a five-minute walk away. Inside the church, the artistic decor with ceiling paintings and baroque altars is impressive. The harmonious combination of nature and architecture makes a visit to the church particularly interesting.
