The Tyrolean Christmas markets, unique Christmas markets in Austria, enchant visitors with a wealth of culinary delicacies. Enjoy traditional delicacies such as gingerbread, the finest chocolate, hot chestnuts, crispy pretzels, hearty sausages and warming drinks such as mulled wine and hot chocolate in a festive atmosphere.
These markets shine with Christmas splendor, especially in the evenings when every stall sparkles in a sea of lights. The most famous of them is in Innsbruck's old town, right in front of the Golden Roof. But many other towns in Tyrol also invite you to their own atmospheric Christmas markets, which delight with their unique atmosphere.
The Christmas markets begin in the second half of November and usually end on December 23rd. Most of the time, a large illuminated Christmas tree is at the center of the action.
