The Axamer Lizum is one of the most famous ski areas in Austria and becomes a popular hiking region in summer and autumn. Start is the large car park at the Axamer Lizum train station.

From the parking lot there are paths in different directions and you can actually decide on the spot whether you just want to walk a little through the breathtaking landscape or decide to go for a longer hike to one of the peaks.

Leisurely walk at the valley station

The green alpine pastures and flowering meadows invite you to take relaxing walks or challenging hikes. Tours to the Hoadl are particularly popular, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Mountain bikers will also find exciting routes in the region, ranging from gentle paths to challenging trails. Families have the opportunity to experience nature up close and enjoy the clear mountain air.

Another option is to take the cable car to the mountain station and then walk back to the valley station. Attention: If you want to take the train up, you should find out beforehand whether the train is in operation.
