To build a cool, big snowman or snowwoman, you need enough snow and this is often the case in the Tyrolean winter. Here are some short instructions on how to build a snowman or snowwoman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) First, form a small snow globe with your hands, about the size of a soccer ball.
2) Then roll this ball through the snow. As you roll, the snow from the ground sticks to the ball and it gets bigger and bigger. Roll the ball in different directions so that it becomes even and round.
3) Repeat the whole process twice until you have three balls: a large one for the lower body, a medium one for the upper body and a small one for the head.
4) Now you need some strength to put the balls on top of each other.
5) For the nose you can use a carrot, a branch or even snow. For the eyes you can use black stones, nuts or alternatively sunglasses. For the arms you can use branches or alternatively gloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is easiest to build a snowman when there is fresh snow, i.e. shortly after it has snowed, as the fresh snow sticks very well and so the effort is less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to mention that it is meant to be fun. Sometimes the snowman or snowwoman is not perfect, but the children have fun building it. It is important not to be too perfectionistic. Building snowmen is a fun tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
