The ski jump on Bergisel in Innsbruck is one of the most impressive modern buildings in Tyrol. Today's ski jump was built in 2001 based on a project by the famous architect Zaha Hadid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bergisel ski jump can be visited independently of ski jumping events. There is an entrance fee. A cable car takes you to the top of the building and a lift takes you up to where the jumpers take off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also a panoramic restaurant at the top of the tower and a panoramic viewing platform one floor above. The view over Innsbruck is unique. In the spring and summer (yes, in the summer) people sometimes practice ski jumping and it's very interesting to watch. Information about this at +43 512 589259.

Directions:
\u2726<\/strong> Take the tram (line 1) to the Bergisel terminus and then walk 20 minutes uphill to the ski jump (partly a somewhat steep slope if you are not sure-footed).
\u2726<\/strong> By car to the Bergisel parking lot and another 5 to 10 minutes on foot (a somewhat steep slope).
\u2726<\/strong> On foot: From the Triumphpforte (end of Maria-Theresien-Stra\u00dfe) always follow Leopoldstra\u00dfe straight ahead. At the end of Leopoldstrasse, cross a large street and continue straight ahead, past the Glassmayr bell foundry, along Brennerstrasse. Where the Brennerstra\u00dfe makes a big right turn, the path continues through the forest, past the Tirol Panorama Museum and finally to the Bergiselschanze. Duration: approx. 40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
